As I look up at my windows adorned with pastel eggs and bunnies, (yes- my windows are still decorated for Easter...taking them down tonight- I swear!) I laugh at the sounds coming from my house. They do not match whats going on inside! It's like asking a blonde if the drapes match the carpet!
This is the one reason I dislike Spring. Open windows.
From the outside- the pastel bunnies and chicks make our life seem like its all rainbows and butterflies- that is when the windows are closed.
When the windows are open, it sounds like an asylum! Between the screaming and crying from the kids- me yelling (only when necessary of course-wink,wink) and the dog barking...only crazy people can sound like this!
When I realize the windows are open after a tug of war between Chloe and Max, I wince. Then I shrug and say screw it! Although my life may appear to be filled with pastel chicks and bunnies-life isn't always rainbows and butterflies!

I think anyone with kids has a house like yours.. whether they admit or not! I have a love/hate relationship with open windows for this very reason. I feel like my neighbours only ever hear me giving time outs and telling kids to keep boogers in their noses!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post! :)
Found you through Hellocotton :) I am loving your blog!
ReplyDeleteI was so afraid my voice traveled across to my neighbor whose house is directly across from me- we happily discussed the fact that I do not hear her (she has two kids under three)- nor does she hear me...needless to say- we are both happy & relieved!!
ReplyDeleteLoved your visit & comments ladies! Thank you.
i agree with you. when windows are open, it sounds like an asylum!
ReplyDeletelove your decorated windows, look great!
i really love your blog!
wish you a wonderful day!
I'm so, so thankful to live at the end of the street and that MOST of my neighbors are in their '80s. Banking that the hearing isn't top-notch! Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteMichelle- cracking up!!!!
ReplyDeleteBetty- thank you...they are still decorated. I shouldnt have sworn yesterday!!!
Haha.. now I wonder if the decors are gone already. Are they?
ReplyDeleteViviene- YES!!! But...I must confess- my mom took them down!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, my reasons for worrying about open windows are far more prosaic - the birds sometimes fly in and make a terrible mess! :)
ReplyDeleteRachel- I would DIE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteA noisy house is a happy house - at least that's what I tell myself :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love it! It's like when my mom would yell at us kids growing up, and then answer the phone in a sweet voice! Thanks for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteHahaha. It's okay, I'm sure people understand ;)
ReplyDeleteI've thought this so many times with our neighbors! haha
ReplyDeleteI've read some of your writing and your writing is indeed very good, I'll try to follow your advice, thank you

ReplyDeleteOh, it sure isn't! All KINDS of unspeakable things go on in my house!
ReplyDeleteVisiting via SITS. :)
Hahaha...at least we know we are not alone in our crazy!!!
DeleteI totally feel the same except that we share walls with our neighbors!! I can't even imagine the things that they've heard!! Yes, not all rainbows and butterflies.
ReplyDeleteSo funny Christine- I shared walls for years growing up in Brooklyn...so close that I heard my neighbor from downstairs yell to his mom he ran out of toilet paper!!! Needless to say, we sang stranded on the toilet bowl to him for YEARS!!!! LOL. Ahhhh...only in Brooklyn. I MISS IT!!!
DeleteCracking up! It is way too hot for open windows at our house, but I use my blog as an open window instead! ;)
ReplyDeleteHonesty is definitely the best policy when it comes to this mothering gig! :)
Stopping by from SITS sharefest.
This was at the time when you JUST start opening the windows and forget! My windows are now closed with the AC going constantly...I can yell to my hearts content now!!! Hahaha
